An inspirational story that will bring the tears to the toughest person:
In a few short hours, Ryan Roberts together with two others (Sanele Sibandze & Roberto Russo) will be embarking on a journey to climb Kilimanjaro to raise funds for the wonderful charity Rainbows and Smiles and most importantly in Loving Memory of Roan Dales.
Ryan Roberts, from Hillcrest, Kwa Zulu Natal, decided to climb Kilimanjaro as a birthday present to himself, but also in honour of Roan, who died from a brain tumour at the age of 5 years in 2011. He will be climbing the mountain with an extra 25kg weight. As in his interview with a local radio station, East Coast Radio, he said, “Many people walk the mountain so we had to make a challenge. We came up with the idea that Roan weighed 25kg at the time of his passing and that i would carry his weight to the top of the mountain as a sign of a dad carrying a child.”
Ryan set out a task to raise a R100,000 for this charity. Much appreciation to every single person that has contributed via the backabuddy page and a special thanks to Franke, who donated R60,000 for this cause.
Most important thanks goes to Warick and Bonny Dales, parents of Roan, who is the inspration to Ryan’s adventure.

Until the safe arrival of our super stars
